We have received the following Security Notice from British Gymnastics.  If you see anything or anyone that you consider to be suspicious, please inform one of our coaches or challenge the individual for some identification.

Dear All,

We have been made aware of a person falsely representing themselves as a BG National Coach who is approaching clubs. The individual has currently visited a location wearing an apparent official BG kit, advertised himself on Facebook as such and shared incorrect information regarding his coaching role with members of the public within a leisure centre.

Please emphasise within your region the importance of club security, anyone who is not a regular visitor to the clubs must be asked for identification, even if the individual is wearing what may appear to be BG authorised attire. If clarification is required clubs can contact the Safeguarding and Compliance team directly.

Any clubs who have anyone approaching them who they are not aware of, should inform you or a member of the Safeguarding and Compliance team immediately. If possible, CCTV footage should be shared with us of the individual.

Competition details for the 2017-18 British Schools Trampolining Championships are now available at the following links.  The competition is available to Novice, Intermediate and Elite levels.  If you are interested in entering this years competition, please be aware that the competition potentially involves three rounds

1.  The West Midlands Regional event - which will take place on 5th November at The Chase Leisure Centre, Cannock

03/01/2017 - Re-launch of Bonus Ball (FINAL CALL FOR SUPPORT)

THIS IS THE FINAL CALL FOR SUPPORT FROM COMPETITIVE MEMBERS AND THEIR PARENTS/GUARDIANS.  WE ARE TRYING TO RAISE FUNDS TO BENEFIT YOUR CHILDREN BY SELLING A WEEKLY BONUS BALL NUMBER TO GIVE THE WINNER THE CHANCE TO WIN £30.  ALL MONIES RAISED GOES BACK IN TO CLUB FUNDS TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILDREN.

WE RE-LAUNCH TOMORROW AND AT THE MOMENT WE ONLY HAVE 19 BANK TRANSFERS/STANDING ORDERS SET UP.  THIS MEANS WE HAVE GONE FROM A PROFIT-MAKING VENTURE TO A GUARANTEED LOSS-MAKING VENTURE.  THIS IS A VERY DISAPPOINTING SHOW OF SUPPORT FOR A SUCCESSFUL CLUB THE SIZE OF STOKE ELITE.

IF YOU'VE FORGOTTEN TO SORT OUT THE BANK TRANSFER I UNDERSTAND, BUT PLEASE SET IT UP TONIGHT SO YOU ARE IN TOMORROW NIGHTS DRAW.  IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT A NUMBER YET, PLEASE CONSIDER INVESTING £5 PER MONTH TO SUPPORT THE EXCELLENT WORK OF THE CLUB.  WE RELY ON THE SUPPORT OF EVERYONE TO MAKE SURE THE CLUB CONTINUES TO BE A SUCCESS AND IS ABLE TO PROVIDE THE SUPPORT THAT YOUR CHILDREN NEED.

Original call for support (originally published on 02/12/16 and re-published on 27/12/16)  follows.............

The weekly bonus ball draw was temporarily suspended earlier this year during a period where parents had a number of bills to cover (annual BG membership renewal, various competition entry fees plus new squad kit).  Now that we've got these expenses out of the way, and hopefully you'll soon be finalising your Christmas purchases, it is time to re-launch the Bonus Ball.

It will restart on Wednesday 4th January 2017.

We would like to sell all 59 numbers so please consider purchasing one to help raise club funds.  All monies raised by the Bonus Ball draw go in to club funds where it is used to purchase equipment and subsidise coaches training costs.  The draw costs £5 per month payable by standing order using the following bank details

Please see the BONUS BALL page for details.  If you would like a number, please contact Steph Harvey.  At the time of writing, we have the following numbers available for purchase

2,4,5,14,16,17,20,23,31,33,34,35,36,38,40,45,46,47,51,53,54,58,59

PLEASE TRY TO PURCHASE A NUMBER IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE.  THANK YOU

We are pleased to announce that Hannah Yates, Tia Inkip-Clarkson & Lucy Pepper have all been selected for the GB Trampoline High Performance & Talent Development Squads for 2017.  This follows their recent trials at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.  This is recognition for all of the hard work and determined performances they have produced during 2016.

We must also congratulate their coaches - Kate Lawton and Louise Finney who have developed and guided them from their very early beginnings from recreational level and then on through the regional and national competition circuits.  An inspirational story for all of our budding gymnasts and coaches.

And of course, not forgetting their proud parents - Ian, Julie, Rich, Dominique, Matt & Debbie who provide the support and financial assistance required for them to attend coaching sessions, development squads and competitions.

13/01/2016 - New GUESTBOOK page

We regularly receive letters, texts and emails thanking us for the services we provide.  To ensure these get properly captured, we now have a Guestbook page which can be used for feedback about the club, its activities and the club website.  Feel free to leave comments (hopefully positive ones) that you are happy to share with visitors to our club website.  We'll use the comments to try and improve what we do.

If you have any issues or concerns, the Guestbook page isn't really the place to voice your discontent.  We'd much rather you discuss them with one of our coaches, with our Welfare officers  or with a member of the committee.  If we don't know what the problem is, it is very difficult for us to put it right for you.

Looking forward to your feedback.

A MASSIVE congratulations to Kate Lawton who has been appointed Assistant Performance Pathway coach for the Central Region.  Kate will be working alongside Harvey Smith (GB youth coach from Northampton Trampoline & Gymnastic Academy) and will be developing the young talent across the Central Region who are hoping to be the next generation of National & International Trampoline Gymnasts.

This is fantastic recognition for all the hard work Kate puts in to her coaching and also reflected very highly on the incredible work done by all the coaches, gymnasts, parents and supporters of SETC.

WELL DONE KATE !!

13/07/2015 - Special Announcement

Following on from an immensely successful weekend at the NDP Finals, the executive committee are pleased to announce another significant success for the club.

Following an invitation from British Gymnastics, we have applied for, and have been awarded, a grant to purchase additional trampoline equipment from Gymaid.  The grant is for £10,000 which will enable us to purchase some additional matting plus a Eurotramp Ultimate Trampoline for use by our squad gymnasts.  The new equipment will be provided at our Trentham site, which will free up an existing trampoline to be moved to the very successful satellite site that Naomi operates at Kidsgrove.  The additional trampoline capacity will allow us to grow the club while providing our squad members with the opportunity to train on the same type of equipment used for Regional Team Finals, NDP Finals, National Spring Event Series competitions and the British Championships.

The award recognises the tremendous work that is going on at our club so it is appropriate to make a few thank you's.  Firstly, we would like to thank our GYMNASTS who achieve the success that the club is measured by.  Thanks to their parents & guardians for their continual support and encouragement.  To the JUDGES without who we would be unable to enter competitive events.  Thanks to the members of the COMMITTEE for their hard work in ensuring that the administrative requirements of running the club do not hinder the day-to-day coaching operation.  And finally to the COACHES, led by our joint head coaches LOUISE FINNEY & KATE LAWTON and assisted by coaches and coaching assistances at all levels who guide, mentor and support all of our gymnasts from juniors attending recreational classes through to seniors competing at National & International events.

The BG grant will be topped up with a £500 grant awarded by Councillor Peter Hayward, a £200 grant awarded by Alsager Rotary Club, an award of £1,000 raised by the committee from club funds and a £3,000 donation by Louise and Kate from their coaching company - SETC Coaching.

WELL DONE TO EVERYONE CONCERNED

16/06/2015 - Injuries occurring during sessions

If your child picks up an injury during a training session, it is usually dealt with at the time by a first aider.  However, if it is necessary for your child to visit a hospital as a result of their injury (either A&E or as an out-patient), can you please inform your child's coach as the club will need to inform British Gymnastics as this could impact any subsequent insurance claim.

30/03/2012 - Directions to Rugby

Please note - the original postcode given for the Rugby venue may not work.  Please read the following kindly put on the club Facebook page by Laura Martin

"Checked out Rugby College on their website, it looks really nice and new. But they say that your Sat Nav may not recognise the CV21 1AR postcode, so alternatively try CV21 1RW, as this is for Junction Retail Park. As you approach the retail park (McDonald's is on your left) DO NOT turn left (However much you fancy a McD's!!) go straight over the roundabout onto the new rd (Technology Drive) and you should see the centre ahead. Hope this helps folks :-) oh and make sure you've got enough petrol!!!! "
